CLASSES
JAZZ
Today, JAZZ dance is present in many different forms and venues. Jazz dance is commonly taught in dance schools and performed by dance companies around the world. It continues to be an essential element of musical theatre choreography, where it may be interwoven with other dance styles as appropriate for a particular show. Jazz dancing can be seen in music videos, in competitive dance, and on the television show, So You Think You Can Dance. Jazz dance also incorporates many leaps, turns, level changes, and characteristic moves. Dancers who are participating in jazz dance classes are required to wear form-fitting attire: solid color leotard, with black tights or tight work out pants, and jazz shoes or boots. Hair must be pulled back from face.

HIP HOP
HIP HOP dance refers to social or choreographed dance styles primarily danced to hip-hop music or that have evolved as part of hip-hop culture. This includes a wide range of styles notably breaking, locking, and popping which were developed in the 1970s. What separates hip-hop dance from other forms of dance is that it is often freestyle (improvisational) in nature and hip-hop dancers frequently engage in battles—formal or informal one-on-one dance competitions. Informal freestyle sessions and battles are usually performed in a cipher, a circular dance space that forms naturally once the dancing begins. These three elements—freestyling, battles, and ciphers—are key components of hip-hop dance. Dancers who participate in hip-hop classes are required to wear comfortable clothing that allow the body to bend, move, and groove in every way. Sneakers or jazz shoes are preferred and hair must be pulled back from face.

CONTEMPORARY/ LYRICAL
CONTEMPORARY/ LYRICAL dance is a genre of concert dance that employs systems and methods found in modern dance and postmodern dance, as well as classical ballet. Contemporary dance draws on modern dance techniques as well as newer philosophies of movement that depart from classical dance techniques by altogether omitting structured form and movement. This class requires foot underwear or ballet slippers with dance attire and hair pulled back.

BALLET
BALLET is a formalized type of performative dance, started in sixteenth and seventeenth century French courts, and which was further developed in England, Italy, and Russia as a concert dance form. The early ballet dancers were not as highly skilled as they are now. It has since become a highly technical form of dance with its own vocabulary. It is mainly performed with the accompaniment of classical music. It has been influential as a form of dance globally and is taught in ballet schools around the world, which use their own cultures and societies to inform the art. Ballet dance works (ballets) are choreographed, and also include mime, acting, and are set to music (usually orchestral but occasionally vocal). Ballet dancers are required to wear proper attire: black or solid color leotards with pink tights and ballet slippers or pointe shoes. Hair must be in a bun preferably or pulled back from face.
